So what is working in the ‘new MYER’ like?

Firstly, the old MYER is part of the new MYER. The traditions started by Sidney Myer over 100 years ago are more relevant than ever. The Myer family are part owners of the new MYER, so they have a very real interest in defining the culture.

Their legacy is now part of MYER’s future. The partnership of the founding family owners with an international private equity group is part of the new business world.

Many initiatives born under Myer family ownership have returned, including the 25 Year Club, the Graduate Program and the Management Development Program.

The retail challenges of the current day are also defining the culture. MYER has to keep pace with the customer of today, who still wants great service at great prices, but will want the choice of online purchasing. Myer is opening new stores and improving our online accessibility taking Myer to more locations and bringing MYER to more people.

Access to information is also a cornerstone of our culture today. It provides the basis of knowledge about what is needed and enables team members to make informed decisions which helps improve our performance.
