Community Investment

Myer has a rich history built on the foundations of service to the community through the heritage of our founder, Sidney Myer. His vision and commitment to the community have shaped the values we still uphold today. It is this legacy of service that drives us to support those in need and to make a positive impact to society. We believe that by engaging with and contributing to the communities in which we live and work, we can have a positive social impact, make a lasting contribution, and help achieve positive change.

About the Myer Community Fund

Myer Community Fund is the national charity of Myer Pty Ltd, it is a public ancillary fund and governed by its own Board.  With a focus on supporting children and families in Australia, Myer Community Fund is committed to raising funds through charitable activities involving Myer team members, customers, brand partners and suppliers.

Annually, Myer Community Fund engages with and supports more than 56 charities across Australia.  These organisations work tirelessly to provide essential services and support to those who need it most, whether it be through protecting children from violence, assisting families in crisis, or helping individuals facing hardship

In FY24, Myer Community Fund was proud to raise over $2.4million to support children and families in Australia, including those experiencing or at risk of family violence. Funds were directed to our national charity partners The Salvation Army, the Alannah & Madeline Foundation and local charity partners nationally.

Partnerships With Myer

Myer has a long-standing history of community support and engagement, and we continue to maintain strong and meaningful partnerships with our local communities.  We do this by partnering with leading charitable organisations seeking to address measures of change and support the needs of the vulnerable for a safer and more secure future.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest welfare providers dedicated to helping people in crisis.  Through our partnership, funding is directed to Family Violence programs and services such as refuges, children’s and parenting services, counselling, support, men’s programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family and domestic violence.

The Alannah & Madeline Foundation

The Alannah & Madeline Foundation is a national not for profit organisation dedicated to keeping children and young people free from violence and trauma wherever they live, learn and play.  Support is offered through care programs, prevention programs and advocacy programs.

Through our partnership, funding is directed to Care Programs including the Buddy Bag program and to therapeutic support, helping children and young people who have experienced violence or trauma to recover, heal and grow.
